when you join Fae100.
As a Fae100er participating in the Fae100 project, you're agreeing to certain things: what you and we can or can't do, and will or won't do; our intent; your role; what you choose to share and how we use it.
We legally need you to agree to these things - but we ethically also want you to understand and be okay with them. We've tried to write them in simple, accessible language.

1.Who We Are and What This Is
Fae is operated by Fae Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company Number: 16753505), with its registered address at Unit D3, Curie House, Wallis Road, London, E9 5LN.
What Fae is. Fae is a personal money companion whose job is to improve your financial wellbeing. It works on a pure subscription model that forces it to align with its customers' interests. No selling, no commissions, no conflicts of interest, no compromises.
What Fae100 is. Fae100 is a group of people who will embark on their own, personal money quests. Along the way, they'll share their insights, experiences, and thoughts to help ignite, test, and shape what Fae will become when it launches publicly. In the process, they'll be helping to build something that will solve a huge problem and make millions of people better off.
Being part of Fae100. You're not just testing a product — you're going on a quest. Actually, two quests. One is personal: to reduce your own money stress with Fae's help. The other is collective: in doing so, you're contributing to something that will ultimately help millions of others. Your engagement, your feedback, and your honesty will directly shape what Fae becomes.
2.Eligibility
Being part of Fae100 is by invitation only. By accepting these Terms, you confirm you are at least [18/22] years old, resident in the United Kingdom, and have an active UK bank account.
3.The Quest: Your Fae100 Journey
3.1 Account Creation
You'll create your Fae account using an email address and password, or via Google OAuth sign-in. Please provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Your account is personal to you.
3.2 Getting Started
Your quest begins with questions about your financial life, goals, and concerns. This is the beginning of Fae getting to know you, so it can be genuinely useful to you. Your answers inform what we build. They are treated as Level 1 data (see Section 4) and are seen only by relevant members of the Fae team. They are never shared externally or sold.
3.3 Connecting Your Data
To be personalised and useful to you in your quest, Fae needs you to share some personal information, from thoughts and feelings to email and financial information. The amount of information you share will always be up to you.
You'll be invited to connect data sources as Fae develops. Each connection is optional, incremental, and revocable at any time. The available connections may include:
- Open banking: your transaction history, shared via your open banking provider. You authorise your open banking provider directly. Fae cannot initiate payments or move funds — ever.
- Gmail (read-only): billing emails, subscription confirmations, insurance documents, and financial correspondence only. Fae does not read personal or social emails.
- Google Calendar (read-only): to contextualise your spending with life events.
- Document upload: insurance policies, bank statements, or similar documents you choose to share.
- Location (optional, mobile only): for contextual nudges. Fae works fully without it.
You can disconnect any data source at any time with immediate effect through your account settings.
4.Sharing Information: The Four Levels
We want to be completely transparent about how information is used in Fae100. There are four levels of data:
Personal information
Your name, contact details, demographic information, and answers to questions we ask you. Only certain people in the Fae team will see this data. It will never be shared outside of our team, and it absolutely will never be sold — that is not our intention or ethos.
Your interactions with the Fae app
Deep usage analytics: which buttons you clicked, conversations you had, and your full journey through the experience. This helps us gauge how useful the app is and how well it works. Only approved people in our team will access and analyse this data during development.
Emails and bank transactions
The financial data that makes Fae personalised and useful to you. The AI that we use will read this information. At this level, no humans ever see it. The information is shared according to strict legal and highly regulated criteria. It is secured by multiple levels of encryption.
Full data sharing
Level 3 data shared with limited people in the Fae team for limited times (typically only hours). We can only, and will only, access it with your permission. We will notify you ahead of time which team members are going to see it, when, and for how long. This level requires separate, explicit consent and is entirely optional.
We're absolutely committed to treating you and your data with respect. We know that talk is cheap, but missteps and mistakes are expensive. We want neither. Trust is everything to us. Full details of how your data is collected, used, and protected are in our Privacy Policy.
5.The Fae Service
5.1 What Fae Does
Fae is a personal money companion. Fae connects to your financial data with your permission and uses AI to give you a clearer picture of your financial life, identify opportunities, and help you act on them. The service will develop and grow as Fae100 progresses.
5.2 What Fae Is Not
Fae is not a bank, payment institution, regulated financial adviser, insurance intermediary, or credit broker. Nothing Fae generates constitutes regulated financial advice. Fae gives you information and insight — what you do with it is always your decision. If you need regulated advice, please speak to a qualified professional.
5.3 Fae Will Not Act Without You
Fae will never take an action like cancelling a subscription, initiating a switch, or anything else without your explicit confirmation first. You are always in control.
5.4 AI Outputs Are Advisory
Fae uses AI to categorise transactions, generate insights, and make suggestions. All outputs are advisory. You can override anything at any time. Fae does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
6.What You Get Out
Our hope is that, by being part of Fae100, you'll learn about yourself and your money, and find ways to improve your financial wellbeing. We also hope you get some satisfaction knowing that you're contributing to solving a massive problem.
In addition, you'll get a free lifetime subscription to Fae.
6.1 The Lifetime Subscription
The free lifetime subscription to Fae is a thank you for being part of Fae100. It is yours from the moment you join — there are no conditions attached beyond signing up and accepting the Terms.
The subscription entitles you to a free tier of the Fae product for as long as Fae offers a subscription service. Fae is not yet publicly available. When it launches, we can activate your access. If Fae's model changes in a way that materially affects this commitment, we will consult Fae100ers before any change takes effect.
7.Your Commitment as a Co-Creator
Fae100 works because its members are genuinely engaged. We're asking you to:
- Use Fae and engage honestly with what it shows you;
- Complete the initial questions and any follow-up requests we send you;
- Give approximately one hour a week to Fae — though some weeks may be more, and the choice is always yours;
- Share your honest experience: what works, what doesn't, what's missing; and
- Engage with the Fae100 community where you're comfortable.
We don't expect perfection. The more you engage, the more useful Fae100 is — for you and for everyone who will eventually use Fae.
8.The Fae100 Community
As a Fae100er, you have access to a shared community space visible to all Fae100ers, and private pages visible only to you. Please treat the community with respect. Do not share other participants' personal information or anything you wouldn't want seen by a small group of peers.
9.Confidentiality
During Fae100, you may see features, designs, and product directions that haven't been publicly announced. Please keep these confidential. Don't share screenshots, describe unreleased features publicly, or discuss what you've seen with people outside Fae100 without our permission.
This isn't legal formality — it's about giving us space to build and iterate without pressure at a delicate stage. This obligation continues for six months after your participation concludes.
10.Intellectual Property and Feedback
Everything in the Fae service belongs to Fae Technologies Ltd or its licensors. Being part of Fae100 doesn't give you rights in our intellectual property.
When you give us feedback — through questions, conversations, or the app — you're giving us permission to use it to improve Fae, without restriction or compensation. We won't attribute it publicly without your permission. You retain ownership of any personal data and documents you share; we use them only to provide the service.
11.Acceptable Use
Please use Fae and the Fae100 community honestly and in good faith. You must not:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service;
- Introduce malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the service;
- Share false feedback with intent to manipulate product development; or
- Use the community to harass, mislead, or harm other Fae100ers.
Serious misuse may result in removal from Fae100.
12.Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Fae is being built in the open, with you. That means it is a work in progress, provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every insight it generates will be accurate, complete, or right for your specific circumstances. That is not us covering ourselves — it is us being honest about where we are.
Where the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, for financial decisions you make based on Fae's outputs, or for the actions of third-party services you choose to connect.
There are things we will always stand behind, regardless of what any terms say: death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by anything in this section.
13.Third-Party Services
Fae connects to third-party services including your open banking provider and Google to deliver the service. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for them or for any failure by them to perform.
14.Leaving Fae100
14.1 How You Can Leave
You can leave at any time by closing your account in the settings menu (Settings → Account → Delete Account). We'll delete your personal data within 30 days. If you'd rather just disconnect a data source, you can do that immediately. Your lifetime subscription is yours regardless of when you leave.
14.2 How We Might End Your Participation
We may end your participation if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, if we need to protect the security of the service, if your continued participation creates a conflict of interest or risk to unreleased product information, or if we conclude Fae100 early for operational reasons. We'll tell you as soon as we can and handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14.3 What Survives
Confidentiality (Section 9), intellectual property (Section 10), limitation of liability (Section 12), and governing law (Section 16) continue to apply after your participation concludes.
15.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms during Fae100. For material changes, we'll notify you by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance. If you don't agree, you can close your account at any time.
16.Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the jurisdiction in which you live: England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland.
17.General
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These Terms, together with our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between you and Fae for being part of Fae100. You cannot transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else.
